Cellula Robotics and Trinity Offshore Technical Services have recently purchased an ROV-deployed subsea Excavator from Nautilus Minerals Inc. This machine was originally developed by Cellula and Trinity in 2005, and it was used for sampling and subsea cutting-test purposes on Nautilus’s Solwara-1 orebody in 2006. Cellula and Trinity are upgrading the Excavator and they plan to offer it for general use in subsea mineral exploration and civil engineering applications.
